Smart City Climatizer

How it works

Chilled water is made at one plant, piped underground and shared by many buildings.

How it works

District cooling is a proven idea in Europe, the Gulf, Malaysia and Japan. The Climatizer adapts it for Indian cities and runs it on renewable power.

  1. Generate

Solar panels and a green hydrogen plant supply clean electricity to the central plant.

  2. Chill

Chillers cool water to 6–10°C. A storage tank holds extra cooling for peak afternoon hours.

  3. Distribute

Insulated underground pipes carry chilled water to each building and bring warm water back.

  4. Cool

A heat exchanger in your building passes the cold to your existing AC units. No outdoor units needed.

Supply and return pipes in a utility tunnel
Chilled water travels in a utility tunnel to a heat exchanger inside each building.

Why not keep individual AC units?

Hundreds of small units each reject heat into the street. A central plant is more efficient, easier to maintain and frees your roof and basement. It competes mainly with air-cooled chiller plants on large buildings, which run in extreme heat, humidity and dust. Over time their efficiency and reliability suffer, and maintenance and replacement costs rise.
