Projects and partners

District cooling is proven worldwide. These references show the scale.

Kuala Lumpur airport

Chilled water supplied since 1997. 35,000 TR designed capacity, with 12 × 2,500 TR steam absorption chillers installed.

Serdang Hospital

600-bed hospital from 2002. 2,800 TR chiller plant and 6,000 TR-hours of storage.

1 Borneo

Completed 2008. 5,700 TR chiller plant and 16,800 TR-hours of storage.

Malaysia Institute of Nuclear Technology

Operating since 2001. 1,500 TR plant and 6,000 TR-hours of storage.

KLCC cogeneration plant

Operational since 2005, with an upgrade of an additional 12,000 TR (42.2 MW) and 45,000 TR-hours of thermal storage.

These are conventional district cooling plants, shown as references for the technology.

Sample network: one 3,200 TR plant serving an office, hotel, mall and apartments.

Built on proven district cooling

Large district cooling plants already serve airports, hospitals and city centres in Malaysia and elsewhere, including Kuala Lumpur airport and Serdang Hospital. India has begun adopting the same approach in planned business districts.

Technology partners: Ecogreen Exports and Alaska Cooling DCS Texas for district cooling, and Rand Hydrogen, Tallinn for hydrogen fuel cell technology.
